For those who enjoy wrapping themselves in warm clothes, seeing colourful trees, and baking, Fall is the season of choice! There are some great activities & places to visit in Sarnia-Lambton, and you need to put them on your Fall 2019 activities list! Here are some of the best parts of Fall, and some suggestions in our area where you can do them!
Pick Your Own Apples & Fruit
Fruit picking, especially apple picking is one of those classic fall activities. Getting to stroll through orchards on a crisp day is unique and relaxing... takes us back to simpler times. Notable orchards/pick your own orchards includes Zekveld's Garden Market in Plympton-Wyoming, Red Barn Fruit Farm in Arkona, Twin Pines Orchards in Thedford, and Hornblower Homestead and Orchards in Thedford.
Hayrides & The Farm Experience
Hayrides are a staple of the fall experience. Getting out and experiencing that little taste of the country life is sweet, and the kids are sure to love it. Korny Korners Farm in Sarnia is an awesome place to bring the kids for a hayride, mini-putt, a corn maze, pedal go-karts, pig races and so much more!
Oktoberfest
Steins filled with craft beer... Polka... German sausage with sauerkraut... Yodelling... These things all scream Oktoberfest! Check out the midtown Refined Fool's "Sarnia Oktoberfest: Hasselhoff Edition" this Thanksgiving Weekend.
Tour a Winery or Brewery
You don't need to head to Niagara to experience the enjoyment of a winery... Alton Farms Estate Winery has you covered this Fall! With their Weinfest on October 19th, and Trick or Treat Like a Grown-Up on Oct. 26th, there are lots of great events for you to check out. Make sure you pet the sheep while you're there!
Hiking
Get out and enjoy the fall colours with a nice hike. We have at least 24 conservation areas in Lambton County and our amazing Pinery Provincial Park. Get some great exercise and bask in all the natural beauty Lambton has to offer!
Take a Drive-Up the Coast
Go for a nice drive and out an explore along the lake or down the river. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and attractions to entertain you on your way along our blue coast! Stop in at Forest Glen Herb Farm, get some breakfast at McPherson's or lunch at Grog's in Port Franks for breakfast, take a tour of Twin Pines Orchards, and go for a nice adventure at the Pinery.
