Step 10: Celebrate and Move

You did it! You found your dream home and your offer was accepted. Congratulations to you and your family. Now it's time to complete the last step of the home buying process, where you Celebrate & Move.

Celebrate

You just made one of the biggest and most important purchases of your life! That's why we always encourage our clients to celebrate after the deal closes.

Our philosophy is that buyers should set the tone of their new life in their new home positively. Do some de-stressing after closing. Get out and spend an evening at a restaurant, or maybe take a weekend spa getaway if possible.

Try cooking a special meal at home with friends or relatives. Or plan to throw a customary housewarming party after you move in. Whatever you do, make it special.

Move

In the weeks leading up to your moving date, you'll find it helpful to identify and organize your possessions in 3 categories: things you use often, things you use occasionally, and things you use infrequently. Start boxing up the stuff you use rarely first, then work your way to your daily use items as your approach moving day.

You'll want to do solid preparation for moving day. If you aren't inclined to do heavy lifting, contact some of our many moving companies in Sarnia-Lambton.

Alternatively, recruiting friends and family can be great, but often work days can prevent willing volunteers from helping. If this is the route you'd like to take, try making your possession date on a weekend, where more volunteers are available. Most people who are moving themselves can rent a cube van from places like U-Haul or Enterprise.

That's it; the 10 Steps are done! Cheers to you, and your new life.
